기획전〈ROOTED: 미완의 흐름〉2026. 07. 25 – 08. 22
전시 타이틀인 <ROOTED>는 작품의 주요 기법인 자수를 하는 행위와 그 기법이 지닌 의미를 나타낸다.
빈화면에 뿌리 내리듯 꽂히는 바늘과 실의 움직임은 지나온 과거와 흘러가는 현재의 시간이 쌓인 추상적 레이어를 시각적으로 구현한다. 한 땀씩 겹치고 모인 바느질이 모여 하나의 단면을 만들고, 그 면이 모여 한 점의 장면을 완성한다. 그렇게 완성된 하나의 장면은 그 동안의 시간을 짐작하게 한다. 이는 우리 삶에서 각기 다른 색과 길이, 굵기를 가진 모든 한 땀의 모든 순간들이 지닌 가치를 전달한다.

The exhibition title, ROOTED, reflects both the central technique of the works—embroidery—and the deeper meaning embedded within that practice. Like roots taking hold in empty ground, the movement of needle and thread across a blank surface visualizes abstract layers formed by the accumulation of past memories and the continuous passage of the present. Each individual stitch overlaps with another, gradually forming a surface; those surfaces come together to complete a single image. That finished image quietly suggests the time that has been invested in its making. In this way, the works affirm the value of every stitch—each with its own color, length, and texture—as a reflection of every moment that shapes our lives.

Take bus 1111, 1112, 2112, Seongbuk 02, or Seongbuk 03 and get off at either Hongik University Middle & High School Entrance or Seongbuk Elementary School / Seongbuk Seonjam Museum.
